Checking for Authenticity

Another of the mysterious "encounters" on our real life Psych Ward set took place again late at night after the business of the day was winding down.

Our film PRISM involves a young boy who witnesses a horrific act, and then struggles in a mysterious catatonia with an other worldly presence. A large number of very intense scenes take place in his hospital room.

We brought a lot of energy and emotion into that space each time we shot there. Late one night one of our crew and the key location manager for the facility was walking past the nurses station after having locked up for the day and checked that no cast or crew remained in the building.

Glancing out of the corner of her eye down the hall she saw the figure of a young boy dart across the hallway, towards the boy's room where we had been filming earlier. Mustering up her courage and figuring our young actor or his sister must still be in the building she walked down to the room, only to find it completely empty. The boy and his sister had left hours earlier.

The next day recounting her story to one of the older nurses at the facility they said that they had seen the boy before. Apparently there is a day care in the building as well, and years ago a young boy had died there, of consumption. We figure he must have been curious about what we were doing in his home.
