The Freakiest Thing

OK, I'm nearly done retelling spooky stories from the set of PRISM, but this was really wild, and I was there to witness it first hand.

On our last weekend in the abandoned psych ward we had been prepping two rooms for shoots the following day. One room had a number of props for one of the characters. A Chess board, pictures on the wall, etc. There were only a few of us there late at night all working on lighting in another room.

For what it’s worth, keep in mind that we had sort of invaded this resting place for war heroes and begun doing a lot of rather intense scenes in which our helpless young actor and leading lady appear to be in mortal danger, and we had continually been talking about “shooting” this person or that person.

"CLATTER" we heard a sound from down the hall. Knowing we were alone in the building we each looked at one another with a mix of shock and amusement.. Following the apparent direction of the sound we made it to our other set up room to find the chess pieces all over the floor, no sign of how or why. So ignoring and discounting any odd deeds we set them back up and went back to work.

"CRASH" a few minutes later. We were all a bit freaked. We went back to the room and the picture on the wall had fallen on the chess board, spilling the pieces again. OK, that could have just been bad hanging. We set things back up again and left, trying not to think about it.

No noise for a while, and then a strange “SCREEECHING” sound. Looking at each other we went back once more to discover THE HOSPITAL BED HAD BEEN MOVED ABOUT FIVE FEET AWAY FROM THE CHESS BOARD! THE RUBBER WHEELS WERE STILL LOCKED!

I don't know what it was and I can't prove anything, but I can tell you none of us were down there when it happened, and we were the ONLY people in the hospital that night. My only regret about the whole thing is that we didn't set up the camera in there, but we didn’t because we'd been having camera troubles anyway. Really weird ones!
