Leanna's call, Bill's epiphany
Story Notes
While evil conspires at the hospital Bill wakes from a nightmare and finds something on the pillow next to him. It is the prism. Bill assumes that Leanna must have left the prism there for him somehow, because it would be illogical to think anything else. He rushes to the hospital. Why? Because he has had a dream. Pride and embarrassment won't allow him to call Leanna. He must see for himself. He feels called to the hospital and cannot explain why. In the car on the way he finds his actions hard to rationalize, but the presence of the prism in the seat next to him convinces him to follow his instinct.
Leanna learns from Mitch that the press have figured out Cage's whereabouts. (Nurse Barbara from the hospital actually leaked this info because she does not really care for or approve of Leanna.) Despite being suspended, Leanna feels she must be there to help insulate Cage. Neither she nor Bill have any idea what awaits them. Filmmaker's Notes
Leanna is racing back to the hospital in the early morning, almost dawn. The problem was we shot the drive footage at night. There was not a good place to reliably capture the perfect dawn sky on a relatively empty road. So, I added the dawn in post. We actually did a number of compositing shots in places you probably would not expect or detect. I'd sometimes use one actor's performance on the left side of the screen, and a different performance from the other actor on the right side of the screen. In some cases I assembled complex layered masks to achieve a composition we simply didn't or couldn't get in camera. I'd love to se if anyone can pick out some or all of the places where we did these sorts of tricks. (The gauntlet has officially been thrown down)
