Story Notes

Whatever Leanna was doing bill knows for sure that it was not appropriate. Leanna is often reckless with her actions. This is often overlooked as a result of how successful she usually is, but Bill can see it all unfolding badly. The press finds out where Cage is only to discover that the therapist watching over him is doing some strange experiments with the boy and other patients. That kind of scandal could take the whole hospital down.

Leanna is too blinded by her passion and her perseverance to see that Bill is right. Then he suspends her, which is the nail in the coffin for her regarding whether or not she could entrust some of what she's dealing with to him.

On a lookout point above the city, leanna is small, minute, a spec against a complex and busy world. She picks up something small from her car. A minute spec, perhaps the carcass of a bug. to the bug, she is massive and complicated. In this moment she understands something about relative consciousness, and what place we all occupy in it.

Back in her car she finally breaks down. She's worked very hard against lots of odds to get where she is. It was largely her instincts which got her there. But it is also her instincts which appear on the verge of bringing her down.

Filmmaker's Notes

There are several scenes here. Interiors, exteriors, cars, dolly shots, jib shots, etc. I owe a great debt of gratitude to my brother Britt for finding a way to pull off all the shots I was looking for, and for bringing a significant number of cool shots to the table on his own.
